Privacy policy

Protecting your personal data is important to us. We process your data exclusively on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) and the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021). This page explains which data we process when you visit this website.

2. Hosting and server logs

This website runs on the Odoo software and is hosted on the Odoo.sh platform of Odoo S.A. (Chaussée de Namur 40, 1367 Grand-Rosière, Belgium). Odoo S.A. processes the data as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR). Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) is used upstream for delivery and protection against attacks; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Each time the website is accessed, technically necessary data is processed: IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page (referrer). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are only kept for as long as necessary for these purposes.

3. Cookies

This website only uses cookies that are necessary for its operation or that store your language preference. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Details can be found in our cookie policy. The legal basis is § 165(3) TKG 2021 in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. Contact form and email

If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process your name, email address, subject and message in order to answer your enquiry. The form sends your details as an email to office@symvaro.com; the message is stored in our Odoo system. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We store your enquiry for as long as necessary to process it. If it results in a business transaction, the statutory retention periods apply (usually seven years under § 132 of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code, BAO).

5. Job applications

If you apply via our careers page, we process the data you provide: name, email address, phone number, your LinkedIn profile if provided, your message and uploaded documents such as your CV and certificates. The application is stored in Odoo Recruitment and is only viewed by the people at SYMVARO involved in the selection process. The legal basis is the initiation of an employment relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

If no employment results, we delete your application documents seven months after the end of the process. This period results from the possibility of asserting claims under the Austrian Equal Treatment Act (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We only keep your data longer if you expressly consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw this consent at any time.

6. Fonts, maps and links to social networks

The fonts of this website are loaded directly from our server; no connection to Google Fonts is established. We do not embed a Google Maps map. The link “Show in Google Maps” only opens Google Maps when you click it.

We link to our profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and kununu with simple links. No plug-ins of these networks are embedded; data is only transferred when you click a link. From then on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, write to us at office@symvaro.com.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
